Terms of Service

The rules and responsibilities that apply when you access or use CarVolt.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the CarVolt mobile application, website at https://carvolt.app, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). The Services are provided by CarVolt (“CarVolt,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

CarVolt is an electric vehicle charging station discovery, information, navigation-assistance, and route-planning service. CarVolt does not own or operate charging stations, sell electricity, process charging payments, or provide charging services.

Please read these Terms carefully. If you do not agree to them, do not access or use the Services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, creating an account for, or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization.

Your use of the iOS App is also subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and any other applicable Apple terms. If these Terms conflict with mandatory law, the mandatory law controls.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If applicable law requires a higher minimum age for you to consent to an online service, you must meet that age or use the Services only with authorization from a parent or legal guardian.

You represent that:

  • you have legal capacity to enter into these Terms;
  • your use of the Services is not prohibited by applicable law;
  • information you provide is accurate and current;
  • if you are under the age of legal majority, your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms where required.

The Services are intended for lawful personal use. They are not an emergency service, a substitute for official traffic guidance, or a guarantee that charging will be available.

3. User Accounts

Some features require an account. You may register using email and password or a supported third-party authentication provider.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials, all activity conducted through your account, providing accurate account and vehicle information, promptly updating information that changes, and notifying us immediately at support@carvolt.app if you suspect unauthorized access.

You must not share verification codes, impersonate another person, create an account using information you are not authorized to use, or sell, transfer, or sublicense your account.

CarVolt may require email or identity-provider verification. We are not responsible for loss caused by your failure to secure your device, email account, credentials, or third-party sign-in account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • violate any law, regulation, traffic rule, intellectual-property right, privacy right, or contractual obligation;
  • use the Services while driving in an unsafe or unlawful manner;
  • submit false, deceptive, defamatory, abusive, discriminatory, illegal, or harmful content;
  • manipulate ratings, comments, station reports, or other community features;
  • harass users, operators, CarVolt personnel, or third parties;
  • access another person’s account without authorization;
  • probe, scan, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or circumvent security or access controls, except where applicable law expressly permits;
  • introduce malware, automated scraping, bots, or excessive requests that impair the Services;
  • copy, resell, commercially exploit, or build a competing database from the Services without written permission;
  • use charging-station or route data for unlawful surveillance, emergency dispatch, or other high-risk purposes;
  • misrepresent your affiliation with CarVolt or any charging operator.

We may investigate suspected violations and cooperate with competent authorities where legally required.

5. User Content

“User Content” includes ratings, comments, corrections, station reports, feedback, and other material you submit.

You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting it, you grant CarVolt a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, format, translate, display, distribute, moderate, and otherwise use that content solely to operate, promote, secure, and improve the Services. This license continues for as long as the content is used in the Services and for a reasonable backup, legal, or integrity-retention period.

You represent that you own or have all rights necessary to submit the content; it is accurate to the best of your knowledge; it does not violate law or third-party rights; and it contains no confidential information, personal data you lack authority to disclose, or malicious material.

CarVolt may review, refuse, remove, restrict, or preserve User Content where reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, maintain data quality, comply with law, or address a complaint. We do not endorse User Content and do not guarantee that it is accurate.

6. Charging Station Information Disclaimer

Charging-station information may include location, operator, connector type, charging power, availability, price, access restrictions, operating hours, amenities, and status. This information may come from charging operators, public authorities, users, public datasets, or other third parties.

Station information can be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, or changed without notice. Live availability may not be supported for every station and may not reflect conditions when you arrive.

Before traveling to or using a station, you are responsible for verifying directly with the operator:

  • that the station exists, is accessible, and is operational;
  • connector and vehicle compatibility;
  • current availability, pricing, fees, payment methods, and operating hours;
  • parking, access, membership, reservation, and site restrictions;
  • safety instructions and charging requirements.

CarVolt does not sell charging services, set prices, accept charging payments, guarantee station access, or enter into the charging transaction between you and an operator. Charging failures, refunds, billing disputes, reservations, service quality, and operator conduct must be addressed with the relevant operator.

7. Route Planning Disclaimer

Routes, estimated ranges, charging stops, arrival battery levels, travel times, and energy estimates are informational estimates only. Results may be affected by vehicle data, battery condition, weather, temperature, elevation, speed, traffic, road closures, driving behavior, payload, tire condition, charging performance, and station availability.

You must use your judgment, obey traffic laws and official signs, monitor your vehicle’s actual battery and warnings, and maintain a safe energy reserve. Do not interact with the App while driving unless permitted by law and safe to do so.

CarVolt does not guarantee that a route is safe, legal, accessible, accurate, optimal, or achievable by your vehicle. If App guidance conflicts with road conditions, official instructions, vehicle warnings, or applicable law, disregard the App guidance.

The Services must not be used for emergency navigation. In an emergency, contact the appropriate emergency service.

8. Third-Party Services

The Services may contain data, links, integrations, authentication, maps, notifications, or functionality supplied by third parties, including Apple, Google, charging operators, vehicle manufacturers, and public-data providers.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms, privacy policies, prices, availability, and operating rules. CarVolt does not control and is not responsible for third-party services, transactions, content, security, availability, acts, or omissions. A link or integration does not imply endorsement.

If you use Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, your relationship with that provider remains subject to its terms. If future vehicle-manufacturer or charging-operator integrations are enabled, you are responsible for complying with their terms and granting only permissions you intend to grant.

Apple-specific terms

If you obtained the App through Apple’s App Store:

  • these Terms are between you and CarVolt, not Apple;
  • CarVolt, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content, maintenance, support, warranties, and claims relating to the App, subject to these Terms and applicable law;
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App;
  • if the App fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any, to the extent required by Apple’s rules and applicable law; Apple has no other warranty obligation to the maximum extent permitted by law;
  • CarVolt, not Apple, is responsible for addressing claims concerning product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer-protection law, and intellectual-property infringement;
  • you represent that you are not located in a country subject to a United States government embargo and are not listed on a United States government prohibited or restricted parties list;
  • you must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the App;
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce the Apple-specific terms against you upon your acceptance.

Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Intellectual Property

The Services, including software, design, interface, text, graphics, logos, trademarks, databases, selection and arrangement of content, and CarVolt-created materials, are owned by or licensed to CarVolt and are protected by intellectual-property laws.

Subject to these Terms, CarVolt grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use the App on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by Apple’s usage rules, and to access the Services for lawful personal use.

No other right is granted. You may not use the CarVolt name, logo, branding, software, or proprietary content without prior written permission. Operator names, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

If you provide suggestions or feedback, you permit CarVolt to use them without restriction or compensation, but this does not transfer ownership of unrelated User Content.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use and share it, retention practices, international transfers, and your rights under applicable law, including the GDPR and KVKK.

By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read the Privacy Policy. Device permissions, such as location and notifications, may be managed in iOS Settings.

11. Limitation of Liability

The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CarVolt disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CarVolt and its personnel, affiliates, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, use, business opportunity, or anticipated savings arising from or related to the Services.

Without limiting the above, CarVolt is not responsible for charging failures; payment, pricing, refund, billing, or reservation disputes; vehicle or battery damage; personal injury or property damage associated with charging; navigation errors, unsuitable routes, range estimates, missed stops, delays, or traffic events; third-party acts or services; temporary outages, connectivity failures, maintenance, cyber incidents, or data loss; or inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or outdated third-party information.

Where liability cannot be excluded, CarVolt’s aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Services will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid directly to CarVolt for the Services during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or EUR 100 (or its local-currency equivalent).

These exclusions and limitations do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for intent, gross negligence, death or personal injury where applicable, or mandatory consumer rights. Nothing in these Terms limits remedies available under mandatory Turkish consumer-protection law or other applicable law.

12. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CarVolt and its personnel, affiliates, licensors, and service providers from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful or unauthorized use of the Services, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s rights or applicable law.

This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results from CarVolt’s own unlawful conduct and does not limit non-waivable consumer rights.

13. Account Suspension

CarVolt may temporarily restrict or suspend your account or access where we reasonably believe you violated these Terms or applicable law; your account is compromised or poses a security risk; your activity threatens users, third parties, data integrity, or the Services; suspension is legally required; or fraud, manipulation, abuse, or harmful automation has occurred.

Where appropriate and legally permitted, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. We may act without prior notice when urgent action is reasonably necessary for security, safety, legal compliance, or harm prevention.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time. You may delete your account using the in-App deletion option, where available, or request deletion by emailing support@carvolt.app from your registered address.

CarVolt may terminate your account or discontinue all or part of the Services for a material or repeated breach of these Terms, legal or security reasons, or if the Services are discontinued. Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice.

After termination, your license ends; access to account features and saved data may cease; personal data will be handled under the Privacy Policy; and provisions that by their nature should survive will continue, including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limitations, indemnification, governing law, and dispute provisions.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections provided by the law of your habitual residence. Disputes will be submitted to the competent courts and consumer arbitral committees or consumer courts determined under applicable law. Before commencing formal proceedings, you are encouraged to contact support@carvolt.app so we can attempt to resolve the issue.

The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Services, law, security requirements, or business practices. Updated Terms will be posted at https://carvolt.app/terms with a revised “Last Updated” date.

If changes materially affect your rights, we will provide reasonable notice through the App, email, or another appropriate method where required. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Services and may delete your account.
